Postmates lets you own the end-customer interaction as you see fit. To best ensure seamless dropoff, while a delivery is live, masked SMS and phone communication is enabled directly between the assigned Postmate and the end-customer. Note that only the contact number provided for the end-customer in the delivery request will be able to connect to the assigned Postmate, and only while the delivery is live.
It is strongly encouraged to use the customer’s mobile number for deliveries and verify that the phone number provided is the best number to reach the end-customer before creating a delivery. Contact details, including phone number and address, cannot be changed once a delivery request is accepted by the Postmates DaaS platform.
